Leadership is more of a challenge today than ever before. In this VUCA environment (one of Volatility, Uncertainty, Complexity, and Ambiguity) planning, decision-making, and risk management skills are crucial. Whether your title is one that people recognize as “a leader” or you simply must lead in order to accomplish your goals, we can improve your performance. Choose from the Gantt Group courses below to transform your workforce.

Leading Change

This workshop establishes a common language and approach to organizational change. This course assumes that participants will be responsible for leading some aspect of change in the organization, whether small efforts or major projects. We explore individual leadership strengths and challenges around vision, alignment and execution. Using a pre-course, online assessment of best leadership practices, participants receive a 23-page personalized report on 18 behavioral continua. We share techniques to work more effectively with people who think differently and have different priorities, acknowledging the emotional impact of change. This seminar provides tools and skill development with an emphasis on managing change risks and communication. Class members apply learning to their own work to increase their capabilities to lead change.

Project Sponsor Briefing

This short program covers project management concepts and terminology, with an emphasis on the strategic role of project management and the benefits of a proper project management methodology and processes. This course is targeted to executives who request projects or have to manage project managers. It reveals the four most common problems in project management with their solutions. This briefing enables participants to clarify the various stakeholder roles and responsibilities within their projects, facilitating the faster and more successful accomplishment of project results.

DiSC® for Management

Targeted to people who manage others, this course helps participants learn about their management styles, including decision-making and problem solving. Participants focus on understanding themselves and how to adapt to meet the needs of the people they manage. The course includes analysis of their management style with a pre-course, research-validated, online assessment and 26-page individual report. In a series of contemporary videos, class members discover a variety of ways to effectively motivate, direct, delegate, and develop the people who report to them – making them more effective managers. We also focus on best ways to “influence your manager.”

Dynamic Presentations

Learn the “how-tos” of developing and delivering an effective presentation. Whether managing people, projects, or both, we help participants convey their ideas more convincingly. Determine your presentation’s purpose, and the best ways to prepare and create its structure and content. Participants develop strategies and techniques to overcome presentation anxiety. They learn to manage timing, transitions, and Q&A successfully. Most of this program is spent with participants improving skills by rehearsing short presentations, our videotaping them, and their receiving professional feedback. We also cover when and how to effectively use different types of presentation media and room arrangements. (While we cover PowerPoint, this is not a class on how to use it.)

Managing a Global Workforce

The challenge of managing grows greater as we work with people who are different from ourselves. This workshop focuses on what managers need to be aware of to get the best from people. Whether managing individuals, projects or leading teams, this course helps you better understand differences in the workforce. Diverse individual characteristics cover a spectrum from obvious to subtle to invisible, with people displaying varying levels of comfort with self-revelation. These distinctions can be anything from gender to generation, race, religion, disability, and sexual orientation to country of origin, language fluency, and regional traditions. Learn ways to work more effectively with all people.

Strategic Planning

This workshop defines strategic planning and describes the components of a strategic plan that enables an organization’s long-term success. We identify how strategic planning differs from other forms of organizational planning. Individual participants explore strategic-thinking skills in themselves and others. We apply the key stages of the strategic-planning process and identify methods for involving stakeholders in strategy formulation and implementation. Participants analyze common obstacles to strategic planning and develop plans to overcome these obstacles in their company’s environment.

Exercising Influence

In roles without authority (or even with it), getting things done through people who do not report directly to you is vital. This class helps participants develop strength, focus and flexibility as influencers. Whether you are a manager or project leader, influencing skills are required to align teams, learn form others, and create agreements in a work environment. Learn how to build relationships and get results by analyzing a variety of expressive and receptive tactics and behaviors. Participants take a pre-work assessment, then, based on the results, practice techniques they personally need to strengthen. You’ll use specific inquiring, listening, facilitating, negotiating, and other behaviors in situations customized for those you want to influence.

Effective Meeting Facilitation

Develop one of the most critical skills in any professional job – managing great meetings. Participants learn to facilitate others working together more effectively without having authority. You’ll examine techniques for structuring and developing meeting agendas, and keeping the meeting focused and on track. This course gives guidelines for how to keep meetings short and effective. We define and establish roles for leading the meeting, timekeeping, and contributing content. This program develops participants’ facilitation skills and provides methods for getting everyone’s input and leveraging their enthusiasm.
