News Release: January 2005
PMI (the Project Management Institute)
completes the first annual cycle of review
at the new, higher standard of quality
for its Registered Education Providers (R.E.P.) in March.
Martha Legare, CEO of the Gantt
Group and
an advisor to PMI’s
R.E.P. Team, just returned from PMI Headquarters with this report
of the team ’s recent accomplishments.
- The R.E.P. advisory group (who helped establish
the new standards) met with the recently
hired quality reviewers in Philadelphia in January.
- Together we
explored areas where communication
needed to be more specific to both
the R.E.P. applicants and the individual reviewers
- In Lessons
Learned, the whole group was able to identify some
ways to streamline the process for
next year (i.e.: separate the application into 2 forms:
one to be filled in
with the R.E.P. data, and another
for the instructions themselves enabling a faster review).
News Release: October 2004
The Gantt Group was one of more than
50 organizations, who identified
themselves as “OPM3 Users” and
met in Anaheim during PMI’s World Congress. We learned
two things of interest:
- PMI has
made some improvements to the original
software assessment tool
and
- that less
than 2% of those present had used the
tool in its entirety.
There was
much lively debate about
the assessment itself and direction
of application of the Organizational
Project Management Maturity Model. |
